Contractor Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to contractors registered on the Uppatch platform. It explains what data we collect from you, how we use it, what we share, and your rights over your data.

1. Data We Collect From You

When you register and maintain a contractor account, we collect:

• Full name and business name
• Contact number (used when sharing your profile with matched customers)
• Service categories and descriptions you list on your profile
• Location data provided during onboarding (used for matching only)
• Ratings and performance scores accumulated through the platform
• Subscription and billing information processed via Paystack

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:

• To create and maintain your active contractor profile
• To match you with customers who are looking for your services in your area
• To share your contact number and listed services with customers when a match is made
• To process your subscription payments via Paystack
• To calculate and display your ratings and performance scores
• To improve platform matching accuracy and performance

We do not use your data for advertising purposes and we do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Your Location Data

Your location is collected during onboarding and stored securely on our servers. It is used solely as an internal matching parameter to connect you with customers in your area. Your exact location coordinates are never displayed to customers, never shared with third parties, and never exposed publicly in any form. Customers only ever see your contact number and listed services.

4. What We Share With Customers

When a match is made between you and a customer, the customer receives only:

• Your contact number
• Your listed services

Nothing else from your profile is shared. Your location, full address, billing details, and any other personal data remain private.

5. Third-Party Services

We work with the following third parties:

• Paystack — processes your subscription payments securely. Your billing data is handled entirely by Paystack and is never stored on Uppatch servers.
• WhatsApp — used as the customer-facing interface for matching. Contractor data shared through WhatsApp is limited to contact number and services only.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your subscription remains active. Upon cancellation of your subscription, your entire profile — including your business information, listed services, ratings, scores, and location data — is permanently and automatically deleted. This deletion is irreversible and cannot be undone.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Billing data is handled entirely by Paystack and is not stored on our servers.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of any inaccurate data on your profile
• Request permanent deletion of your data by cancelling your subscription
• Withdraw consent to data processing at any time by contacting us

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of your contractor account after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
